The greatest Greek.

Greece has got a great history and there were many people who have connected their names with it. In my personal opinion, the greatest figure who has played the most important role in the greek history is Alexander the Great.
He was the best general ever born. In a very young age (19) he became the king of Macedonia in his father's place and started the most succesfull and big campaign ever done. He ruled a lot of countries and reached even in Babylon. Then the greek culture was handed down to the local countries ruled by Alexander and as a result local people's life changed.
I totally believe that history has fairly awarded Alexander as Great because of his great achievements and his important role not only in greek but also in other countries history.

My favourite piece of art.

In my opinion the most popular piece of art is music. I think that there is nobody in the world who doesn't like listening to music. It helps people relax or have fun but there is a more important sense too. Music is a mode of expression. People express their emotions and feelings through music by the kind they are listening to. There are different kinds of music appropriate for every mood. I personally like the band Linking Park. It appeals to me and I find their songs very nice ang interesting. My favorite song of them is that called "NUMB". I like it a lot because of the power it has.

The new one euro coin of my country.

Nowadays, the one euro coin in Greece features an owl which stands for wisdom and it is the symbol for the godess Athena. I do not know why it was selected but I would prefer somehting else to be featured on it.
I believe that the temple of Parthenon should be featured on the new one euro coin. It is located to the Akropolis in Athens and it is a structure with a great historical and cultural importance. In the acient years when there were not any highly tecnologically developed machines, people managed to construct this temple which has been existing until today. That is the reason why it is the most important landmark in Greece and attracts so many people globally to come and see it.
I suggest this building to be featured on the new one euro coin because by putting it on the coin, people will see it daily and they will not forget our historical monuments and decide to go to see and explore them. Also, I think that it is totally sensible to show our most important structure on our coin especially when it is included in the most nice and importand structures made worldwide.
In conclusion, I believe that the temple of Parthenon should be put on the new one euro coin because of it's cultural and historical importance in order to remind people our country's cultural heritage.

Sports

In my country there are many interesting sports which people like to watch and play. My favorite one is football because I thing it is the most interesting and spectacular of all. For example in football goals are rare but in basketball the points are taken very often. So when a goal is scored in football the spectators cheer very loudly. My favorite football team is AEK Athens F.C. and my favorite football player is Nacho Scocco. In my opinion the best player in the world is Lionel Messi.

My neighbourhood, my city.

I live in Athens, in a small and quiet area called Petralona. It is located near the city centre. It is a very nice area with many things to do. There are some squares where teens meet and spend their time, cafes where you can enjoy drinks and have fun and some restaurants where you can have a meal. Also, there is a shopping centre nearby called Athens heart where you can do your shopping , play pool and other games etc. Most buildings in Petralona are blocks of flats. There is also a chocolate factory and one church. I love my area and I don't want to live somewhere else.
As for Athens it is a big, historical city with a huge cultural heritage. It is the capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities globally.It's population is four million people. There is a great number of historical monuments in Athens and the most important is the temple of Parthenon. In addition, Athens was the city which hosted the 2004 olympic games. Some popular places to visit in Athens are the national library of Greece and the national archaeological museum. Moreover, you can go for a stroll to the old Athens neighbourhoods Plaka, Thissio, Psiri etc. The weather is quite good but over the past few years the temperature is quite high due to the smog produced by the factories.
To sum up, I love both my area and my city because of their beauty and history. I think it is the best place for me and I want to live here forever.
